Dara Oshin infuses personal narratives and viewpoints into her work that reads as calm, quiet and soothing. However, there are often underlying elements in her art that reveal the very chaos that was the catalyst of its creation. While Dara’s foundation is in oil painting, she works across any medium she finds necessary to express herself. After earning her degree in English Literature and Studio Art she continued to develop her artistic practice by traveling and studying internationally for nearly a decade before settling in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has been shown in solo and group shows and in 2015, Dara illustrated a children's book which won a Bronze Moonbeam Award. Dara is interested in exploring the dynamics of relationships, the complexities of womanhood, the magic of fertility, and the changing perspectives of belief. Currently, Dara is working on a photography installation that will be exhibited in the Normandy region of France.
